In part 1, I talked about just a few ties between On2 and online video. In this part, I’d like to talk about a couple of areas On2 is involved in outside of the internet.

Let’s start with XM Radio and how they teamed up with On2 to unveil Satellite Video Delivery at CES earlier this month:
From the story:
“The advanced concept video receivers are designed to receive audio and video entertainment from XM’s signature satellite content delivery services. Video content can be either streamed live or stored on the in-vehicle receivers for later playback. These solutions leverage groundbreaking On2 VP7 technology to ensure the best quality video at low data rates.”

How about the Texas Instruments DSP (digital signal processors) Partnership:
“DVD-quality video at under 1 Mbps. Ideal for low-bit rate VOD, surveillance, or IP initiatives. Codec is scalable to accommodate network throughput. Achieves superior results across various consumer playback appliances. Bit rate is 85% more efficient than MPEG-2.”
Or, if you’re more into mobile platforms, try the On2 and CTTnet connection:
“On2 and CTTnet stated that they have achieved significant technical milestones in integrating VP7 on the Symbian(TM),Smartphone and PDA mobile operating system and currently have VP7 operating on four Symbian handsets more than ten Smartphone and several PDA at data rates as low as 28 kbps, flow video playing at 5-8Frame per second.”
- By the way, CTTnet is China Transport Telecommunications Broadband Network Service Co., Ltd…. Do you know how many people there are in China? And do you know how many phones, PDAs, handsets, etc. that means there are in China? I’ll leave it at that.
How about On2’s partnerships with companies like Electronic Arts for video games? Or maybe the partnership with LeapFrog? Or BBC? Or Intel? I could go on and on, but I think you should just take a quick look at On2’s client/partner list. You can find it here.

I spotted this post over at Beedigital and just had to click on the link to check out Adobe flash on. After spending just a few minutes on it, I wanted to help spread the word so here I am writing this post. I’m going to dig deeper, but it looks like the short explanation of it (my own explanation anyway) is that it’s a video portal where you can choose different categories of videos to watch. With categories like horror, animation, lifestyle, hd, action, comedy and several others, there’s plenty of video there to keep you entertained for a good while.
